After listening to the same Automators podcast you referenced, I created a packing list shortcut that was a little different. Mine asks for the from and to dates of my trip, where I’m going, and the categories of things I need to take. It then creates a single task the day before I’m traveling called “Pack for x” (where x is where I’m going). It has a deadline of the day I travel. That task has a checklist with all the things I need to pack. It also adds another “Pack for return home” task that is set the day before I return home (with a deadline of the next day). It has the same checklist as the first one and helps me know I packed everything up again for the return trip.

I use a shortcut for setting my medication reminders. I used to always say “hey Siri, in 4 hours remind me medication”. With iOS 15 I was hoping Siri would be 100% local, but it still uses internet to know how to use my voice. So reminder shortcuts are a godsend

Do automations created using the shortcut app drain the battery in the background? For example, if I created a shortcut that triggers without asking for telling me that the iPhone is charged to 80%, is it going to drain the battery in the background?
