I am a retired chef and I use probably 2 or 3 times the ground black pepper you do, it is marvelous stuff.

This is actually a dish that is a very common side in South African cuisine and especially with various chicken dishes which is why it's so popular at Nandos.

Wee bit of safety advice for you mate when your cutting the white pith out of the red pepper, after you've removed the core. Always face the blade away from your other hand which is holding the pepper. Should your blade slip, even with light pressure, it's going to slide towards your other hand which is holding the pepper.

That cumin was yellow, are you sure that wasn't turmeric?

My favourite rice dish been making this over 23years still a favourite to make it more interesting you can add cubed chicken pieces to an amount of 2cups rice can add 800gr to a kilo of cubed chicken or chicken pieces cooked to your kind of style add a cup of fresh cream steam it with your rice and you will have an English biryani

Wow, that is a legendary recipe, so simple, yet I guarantee it’s delicious…. I do fried rice, Jamaican rice and peas, which this sorta is, and jambalaya, I definitely think I should keep this in mind too, cheers.

I had no idea I've been cooking 'Nando's' rice for years. I thought it was my own recipe. I mean, literally - all ingredients and the process, identical to mine. Sometimes I exchange the peas for either corn or kidney beans, whatever I fancy.
