As a former alcoholic it's a shame I didn't discover this sooner, it took me a long time. As a nutritionist now, i can say that this is spot on and very clearly explained and well presented. Great job!

Alcohol is so bad for your muscles I went on a week bender and got back to the gym. Lost a ton of strength. Gained it right back but you can tell it is absolutely terrible for you muscular health.

So glad I came upon your videos. Sober since June 28th. Have tried and failed, over and over again. It is time I start living my life, without this "poison" alcohol. Thank you!

Chris, you are an excellent teacher. Coming from a family of educators I certainly know. Thank you for what you do.

Man this is totally the vid I needed to come across. Yes I am trying to quit drinking, I am tapering at a rate of ten standard drinks a week and down to the point where I am at around three standard drinks a day, and yes, I am open to examining from a psycho-spiritual perspective why I have fallen into this trap, BUT, it's really been my body that woke me up to the problem. During this step down I have instinctively started on thiamine, magnesium, activated b6, fish and hemp oils, and an antioxidant super greens supplement. After seeing this I will be adding a probiotic of some sort, keep exercising more as i drink less and eat better, and just feel really motivated to continue to prepare for and tackle the massive physical and mental changes that are ahead of me. Huge props bro, this is really well researched, articulate and coherent. There is a lot of content out there around this problem that is dubious to say the least and yours has exactly the kind of rigour and integrity to it I have been looking for. Thank you!!!

This is genius so glad you made this !!! Thank you for everyone trying to better themselves and figure out how to get back to health beyond the love of that darn juice !!!! It’s hard but when you truly comprehend the bad you feel and see what it does in the long run it helps to motivate against the indulgence !

When I first got sober I did what I could and had the regular physical with a great gp; liver function was miraculously ok had really been working on low gi foods and fermented stuff like kimchi etc to redress microbiome issues .. what floored me as a vegan was that my cholesterol levels were still not quite right and my doctor scheduled me in again for more tests after 3 months so alcohol alone was still responsible after that healing time for something I didn't expect. Great info and advice.

Thank you so much for the information. I think we need to have all the facts and then work on cutting out alcohol. We will fail but just have to keep on trying

Thank you for the video. I am a drinker and trying to quit so I bought milk thistle, d3, potassium as well. B12 complex was too expensive this round, next time it's on sale I'll buy it.

I'm an RN and I have at least one alcoholic each shift. Some are nothing more than shells of their former selves. They've deprived themselves for so long they are missing teeth, their skin breaks so easily it's difficult to bandage, they have excruciating abdominal pain, and they don't remember anything you tell them.
