My favorite part was that bonus lick at the end consisting of a repeated 2+3 shape (2 notes on the lower string + 3 notes in the string above) often called the “frying pan” that contains all 5 notes of the pentatonic scale. The stack of frying pans is sometimes called a pentatonic (super-)highway, and it’s a fantastic way to move across the pentatonic boxes and up the fretboard. Because it’s made of three identical stacked frying pans, it’s easy to learn and play fast. I believe that the frying pan is an easier shape to learn the pentatonic than starting with the first box.

Your melodic application was pure gold! Thank you.

This is such a gem of a lesson, thank you so much! I don't know why it took Youtube so long to suggest your videos to me, but I am glad it did. Love it!

To me it is easier to remember 5 patterns of A minor Pentatonic scale by designating number One starting on 2nd thread, number Two starting on fifth, number Three starting on 8th, number Four starting on 10th, and number Five starting on 12th. From there I can figure out all other Pentatonic scales. 🙂

Rob, Great video! Thank you. Love your style. Great content, and offered in a concise and effective manor. You teach more in five minutes than most teach in 20! Others ramble on with filler, and it makes it harder to tie things together. Grateful that I found your channel.
