The 'Battle of Bakhmut' + Russia's GLONASS-Guided Glide Bombs

Update on Russian military operations in Ukraine for April 3, 2023:

-Russian forces continue encirclement of Bakhmut and Avdeevka;

- Western media continues to measure Russia's strategy of attrition by territorial gains;

- Over the past month there has been an uptick in Russian precision airstrikes along the line of contact;

- Reports indicate that one of the munitions used is the GLONASS-guided UPAB-1500B glide bomb with a range of 40-50km;

- The UPAB-1500B is released out of range of most of Ukraine's mobile force protection air defense systems, most of Ukraine's S-300s are either destroyed or deployed far behind the line of contact opening an opportunity for the glide bomb's use;

- Further degradation of Ukraine's air defenses will lead to Russian military aviation becoming a more decisive factor;

To give Brian his due he said at the beginning of the 22'/23' winter he believed that Russia will continue with a methodical, incremental advance intended to continue attrition rather than an abrupt offensive. He said this when, at the time, other very worthy military commentators expected a kinetic massive offensive "when the ground froze." I remember being somewhat taken aback with his take but subsequent facts have shown him correct. Modestly, he has not mentioned this perspicacity.

Basically Russia launches gliding bombs outside the range of Ukraine's mobile BUK systems, and if Ukraine tries to use larger S300 systems, they get destroyed by anti-radar missiles launched by su-35's which cover bombers.

Anytime I read reports of kindergartens & schools being hit; knowing that location has been subjected to heavy fighting between forces for any duration. - I'm immediately aware those buildings are not conducting regular services, and haven't been for a long time.
