THE LIMITER EXPLAINED | One Punch Man

Today I wanted to break down how the powers system of one punch man works. A huge aspect of this is the limiter with Saitama being the only character that doesn’t have one. I also break down how humans become monster and other little quirks of the One Punch Man power system.

People like Flashy Flash, SoS Sonic, Bang, and Atomic Samurai are examples of how one can break limits through training. Through intense training they break through the barriers of pain and death to achieve a new level of power. I believe Gyoro Gyoro referred to this process when he explained his creation of Orochisama. Each of these characters will ultimately reach some stopping point, which is their ultimate limit. Saitama is the only character to actually remove his limiter rather than breaking through to experience new levels. He is therefore the ONLY One Above All.

Which is basically already stated by garou in manga where he says he can achieve his monster form power whilst being human. And is foreshadowing a (hopefully) new tournament arc

Imagine if the prophecy wasn’t god but Saitama’s sneeze so basically Saitama beats god but he reached a level where he was so strong he sneezed away reality ( that’s why it showed Madame Shibabawa’s nose when she died ) and the true villain was the mosquito who went into Saitama’s nose and made him sneeze and the show ends with them having an infinite never ending battle

I agree with most of what you said. But
1. Boro and his minions are not monsters. They’re an alien race.
2. Sun blade and the tank top are not monsters. They seem to be possessed by a powerful spirit.
3. Not all monsters are bad. Look at Amai mask and Zombie man.

I Love The Concept of Limiters,

They Always Sound So Interesting.

the thing about saitama is that he removed his limiter instead of breaking his limiter

Limiter is an actual thing but I cannot remember the name of its irl concept.

Now that Saitamas Limiter is broken, he is Paracausal. If god controls all of reality and nature of the universe. Saitama is the fist against him, Saitama is the antithesis to Logic and reality. His is not just physically limitless but limitless in every conceivable way.

So he is basically a glitch in the system

Really like the power system in one punch man the idea of humans (& objects) becoming monsters because of negative emotions is a cool & terrifying concept.
Saitama being the strongest being in existence defeating all these op monsters for years and yet people still don't know who he is could be because of a cover up just like almost everyone in the world doesn't know who god is, also it's funny.

And goku still has his limiter, but saitama has none

I thought that the limiter was something more like philosofical, like removing aspects like fear of death or envy, wich are technically human limitations. I didn't knew it was something phisical. But what are the implications? Is Saitama able to die from old age or is that considered a limitation he also broke? Because we know that he can get colds like in the battle against Garou (the sneeze that blew up Jupiter), so he still can get affected by microorganisms and bacteria, but is that able to kill him? If he could get a mortal disease, that could kill him? Is even death considered a limitation that he also broke with his limiter? So many questions...

One thing the manga changed that I didn't like was zombie man 🧟‍♂️ wanting to remove his limiter like Saitama, I think the only character that could be able to remove it like Saitama are garou blast flashy flash boros tatsumaki and zombie man

A limiter holds every last limit. So if you remove your limiter, you remove all of your limits.

In order to understand what it means to remove all your limits, you have to understand what limits do. Limits are what restricts/holds down a persons growth. Growth can be defined as how much and how fast a person can grow. Now just flip what it means and it should be obvious.

The human limiter I believe is in the form of teeth. I dont remember what chapters (86 maybe) Saitama gets his tooth punched out of him (he still had hair during this time) but after his tooth falls out he is drawn with his goofy plain simple face style signifying his limiter being removed. Garou also spat out a tooth that had a lot of attention in a panel (maybe ch 166) while fighting bug god and reaper-sword-arm-guy and his potential skyrocketed in short time after. The theme matches up, the narrative matches up, its the teeth. But its different for monsters, they need to almost die a lot.

Difference is no youtuber has to make any video to prove goku is better 😂 also the quality of goku of passing his limiters everytime in times of need for his loved ones make us all love him.

I think one of the things that confuses people is they don't realize exactly what a limiter does. By definition is a person or thing that limits. So when Saitama "Pried open the doors of his limits and broke his limiter" it means he no longer has limitless potential. Prying open the doors of his limits means there is no limit stopping his growth whatsoever. Growth as being defined as growing in size or increasing over time so when Saitama removed his limiter he removed the time it takes to get stronger and how strong he can get and what it takes to get stronger, every thing that can limit his growth so removing the limiter was essentially equivalent to instant unlimited power. And many people think he was trying versus Garou but there is evidence both before and after the end of the fight that he was not. Just prior to the graph he copied Garou stating, "Weren't you going to copy me limitlessly and surpass me? Wasn't that the point? Go ahead and try." So obviously he knew he had endless reserves of strength... More evidence after would be when Genos recovered his core and was talking to Saitama after when he theorized parallel worlds and how no matter what Garou did even if Saitama was holding back a great deal there was no way Garou could outplay him or win.

Atomic samurai must hold his katana lightly to make him more off a great thing if he is going to unsheath his Katana..

How is this even achieved? I wonder how and if ONE would decide to tackle it. Bonus points if it is gag in nature or implied to not be the truth to at least acknowledge the issue because it's a gag in itself.
