Sephardic Jew here! We came to Bosnia under the Ottoman Empire and lived and worked in Muslim quarter. Lots of prominent Jews were part of Bosnian history. We were saved and protected by Muslims during WWII. My grandmother was adopted by Muslim family, after the Nazis killed her parents. They learned and practiced her customs with her, so she would not lose touch with her roots. Grandma later married and went to Israel, but came back to die in Bosnia. We always felt that our family is in Bosnia and always felt out of touch with Israel. All of us, eventually left Israel and lived across the globe. Recently we found out that the Israeli government gave weapons to Serbs to ethnicity cleanse Bosnian Muslims during the '90's wars. All love I had for Israel died after we learned about that.

The jewish community of Thessaloniki, Greece was mostly sepharadic. Unlike Ashkenazis who were mostly speaking yidish, sepharadis were speaking Ladino.
Unfortunately most of the community was wiped out in WW2

Some immigrated to the Americas. Columbus came to America in 1492 the same year that the Sephardic Jews were forced out of Iberia. Columbus brought Sephardic Jews with him to America.
