The mothers in California WONT prescribe LIBRIUM that I tolerate very well. I was shaking from anxiety. Body was vibrating. Am on 30mg of buspar twice a day and it took a month the shaking is gone away with no side effects or desire to abuse. Very nice.

Could you please answer a question about alcohol and busiprone .As a sufferer for too many years or several mental health disorders including ptsd unfortunately alcohol is the only thing that gives me true relief however briefly .
I don’t drink everyday mainly at weekends but would stop taking the medication the night before I plan having some beers etc .Is there any alcohol interaction with buspar ?If so is there a time limit when it’s recommended that it’s out of the system .
I appreciate that alcohol is never recommended but sadly for some of us it’s something we look forward to for abit of relief from the constant misery panic and anxiety that these conditions cause .
There isn’t any information out there around this question I’d really appreciate your help thanks

Re: about this medication being an antipsychotic: it modulates the effects of psilocybin. Also there’s another azapirone approved in Japan that’s related to buspirone and it’s used as an antipsychotic. It’s called Perospirone.

In animal studies of anxiety, buspirone only works in a few models. Usually, it is compared to the reference drug (valium) which works in virtually all animal models of anxiety. In double blind placebo studies, buspirone has proven ineffective for panic disorder, social phobia, anxiety in children and OCD.

There is something about this med that weakens my muscles. I'm now 69 but I've had it around for years. 15mg. It does relax me but then I can hardly walk without getting super weak in the back, hips and so I only use it occasionally.

Thanks I believe you, and I was prescribed 15mg 3 times /day. I don't feel it is adequate, so 30 twice a day definitely helped AND in a very noticeable way.😊🎉

Thank you for this video. How do you decide which medication is prescribe in case of GAD: antidepressant or Buspar? Seems like Buspar has less side effects and safer, is it effective and can be taken long term?

Thank you. It really did help me but made my hands tingle and numb so doc said stop immediately as it’s a BAD effect.

First off, I feel for everyone that has a form of anxiety. This is horrible. I have had Anxiety for about 4 months now. Mine is all work related. I'm not comparing myself to the peeps that have had it most or all of their lives. I just want to share my experience. I started feeling nervous, anxious, worrisome, I couldn't sleep. My mind was dwelling on my work projects constantly. Like every 30-40 seconds, all day and night. My Doc put me on Lexapro. Then she she put me on Buspar with the Lexapro.
I felt sick from the get go from both. I could only take Buspar for 2 days. I felt worse. After 4 weeks I stopped the Lexapro. As of now I take a xanax at night to sleep. No other meds. I'll try to switch to a half a xanax this week if I continue to feel better. Side note, I took a Buspar 2 nights ago instead of a xanax at 11:30 at night. I was up most of the night. In the morning I felt sick.

This is Baby's first Anti Anxiety med. I literally took this when I was a baby and it was really helpful. I mean REALLY helpful. Okay fine not literally I actually took it when I was in elementary school. I think I had to stop it eventually because it was making me sleep an unusual amount

I feel like since I’ve started this drug a year and a half ago, I’ve gained 50 pounds and even while severely cutting my calories and making a point to get an hour of exercise daily, my weight has only crept upwards
