My biggest kitchen win is using Mealie to actually see what I'm going to eat when and to do my to-do lists. I have an automation that helps me plan my meals every Saturday for the next week, since I'm working from home full-time, the amount of thought that goes into "what am i going to eat" is a lot when i did not plan it.

Browser-mod can get rid of that sidebar for you. Make sure the kids don’t mess with the settings ;)

For anyone else struggling with the ads on alexa setting the language to Canadian fixed it for me, also setting a routine to stop "by the way" helps

Can you add a blinking feature? Like your garage door, lets say that it has been open for an unusually long period of time and you forgot to close it. So, the display would show it as a normal display, maybe a bright orange background for a specific amount of time. Then if you still have not closed it after some additional period of time it would change to maybe bright red and blink on the screen, or if you turn on your bedroom light (bedtime) your bedroom light would change to red and display it on your bedroom dashboard. And if that didn't get you to close the door wait till you fell asleep and blast acid rock instrumental guitar screeching music from the garage that can only be turned off from the garage. I am sure your neighbors will he happy about the last one. I have to load these add ons.
