If Shay was in Ezio's timeline, he would've stayed assassin

Durability should go to Shay, during the earthquake he repeatedly fell through floors and got up near immediately and started running again without trouble, as well as having furniture slam against him repeatedly, which would’ve left any normal man gravely injured

Shay is extremely deadly and it’s about time people start realizing that. It’s no small feat to infiltrate the Palace of Versailles, kill a prolific Assassin in broad daylight without ever being spotted by the crowds of people surrounding you, and be gone before anyone even knows what happened. Especially when you are a middle aged man.

Not to mention, he is one of the few Assassins who managed to live out their lives until they died of old age. He started a family, trained his children, and even lived long enough to train his grandchildren. Ubisoft does a pretty poor job of emphasizing the impact of the protagonists on the world around them but knowing what we know of his legacy as the greatest Assassin hunter of the Templar Order it’s pretty safe to assume that for the Assassins, Shay was the man to fear

Shay was a Colonial Templar which means battle iq and intelligence goes to him, and also Shay killed every assassin he needed so durabillity and strength to Shay which means he wins without any doubts, he was also hella brutal with his fighting skills.

this is lil difficult to compare again cuz of the different generations and Shay having huge advantage in weapons and tools against Ezio. I think intelligence point could go to Shay rather than Ezio, since Shay hunted the Assassin's efficiently and lead the British Navy to victory in the 7 Years of War and stealth also IMO goes to Shay aswell because he was able to ambush and sneak on Assassins and he was able to break in to Versailles which I think is the biggest stealth feat in the series, so the points would be 9-9. I think Ezio still can hold his own against Shay just well, but I think Shay's vast arsenal is the tiebreaker and that's why I think Shay would win with hard-extreme diff 6/10 times

This is an intereting matchup. First of all, we need to establish which Ezio we're using: AC2, Brotherhood, or Revelations. Does he still have the Armor of Altair?

Shay definitely has the weapons advantage. Ezio is more heavily armored, but Shay's more modern meapons can easily destroy them. Ezio's wristgun and crossbow are also outmatched by Shay's double flintlocks and rifle.

Ezio has MUCH more combat experience, but Shay can use his Eagle Vision to spot Stalkers, so it would be difficult for Ezio to sneak up on him. Most of Ezio's targets were also noncombatant Templars, while Shay fought and killed 6 very skilled Assassins, including the very impressive Adewale. Ezio does get points for his fight with Cesare Borgia.

Ezio held on to a rope behind a carriage, somehow not shredding his chest open while he was an old man. Shay got shot, fell off a cliff and managed to avoid drowning, before being found by the Finnegans. Both have excellent durability.

Shay has his mask to shield himself from smoke bombs, but Ezio is vulnerable to Shay's special darts and rifle ammo. Let's also not forget that Shay chased an Assassin while suffering from a poison that would kill him if he stopped moving.

I'd say the only way Ezio could win would be in a fistfight or swordfight, or if he could outsmart Shay somehow. At longer range, Shay has a clear advantage.

Shay is much more durable than ezio. He literally kept running while suffering cardiac arrest

shay killed a bunch of low level american assassins (low level as in compared to the assassins in the middle east and italy as they followed the direct teachings of ezio and altair) while ezio beat the pope who was using an ancient mystical artifact to gain godlike abilities while ezio had fancy armor and a sword, and then ezio fought through a war to kill cesare years after taking 4 gunshots, a 4 story drop, and about 3 cannon blasts that had to have broken his ribs that DEFINITELY left permanent damage (not to mention he was still working right after getting those wounds) to him (on top of that he was like 45 so he was pretty far from his physical prime) AND ON TOP OF THAT HE LEAD A COUP IN HIS 60s LIKE BRUH saying shay could go toe to toe with any master assassin is just ludicrous shay was correct in his morals but his actions were basically evil

I wouldn't say, that Ezio had much training.
Mostly he got his skill out of his fights with templars and got some help from Mario in AC 2. And couple of skills from thieves and Paola. Again, I can not really call it training.
And Shay was trained by Achilles, Hope, Liam, Kesegowaase and Chevalier, very skilled assasins, that were teaching him for a long time for sure.
So talking about skill—no doubt, Ezio.
But training I would give to Shay.

I’d give gadgets to Ezio. Shay had smoke bombs, that air rifle, a grenade attachment, pistols, and a knife he could throw. Ezio had, throwing knives, bombs, a hidden gun, poison darts, a poison blade, crossbows, and parachutes. (I’m counting them based on consumables) weapons are debatable too but I’d be willing to go either way tbh.
