The Birds was based on the Daphne du Maurier short story set in Cornwall, published in 1952. So the '63 film was based (loosely) on that, not weird bird behaviour in California

Wow. I made it into a Mental Floss video. I was at Taylor Swift Seattle Night 1 and you could feel the stadium move, at least in the nosebleeds. I thought “maybe this is normal” and then later heard one of the girls working concessions was worried because “this never happens during NFL games”. It was not normal 😅
