Hey Leah! Don't worry, we'll get you up and running. Many MIDI keyboards do not actually produce their own sounds, they are instead used to trigger sounds in other devices, for example, a virtual instrument in Studio One.

From the Studio One browser, choose "Presence, " and drag it into the main window to add to a new track. Presence is a virtual instrument that has tons of sounds. Make sure the input for Presence is your MIDI keyboard, and choose a sound in Presence to your liking. :)

Absolutely! Just set up Maschine as a separate MIDI device in the External Devices menu and assign your Impact tracks input to the Maschine and you're good to go!

Hey, MrWonnabee, thanks for checking in. Mojito is a virtual analog synth, which is indeed capable of producing some really strange sounds. If that's not what you're interested in, check out Presence, the advanced sample player in Studio One. It ships with some excellent sounds, including pianos, organs, and orchestral instruments. It can play Soundfont files as well—and you can import as many as you like!

Thanks for checking in. Let me know if you have more questions. :)

Hey 537Films!

Set up your Korg N364 as an External Device in Studio One. Choose the MIDI Channel here and make sure the Korg is set to the same Midi channel and connect it to your computer via MIDI cable, or USB if the Korg supports that.

Then, connect an audio cable from the Korg to your audio interface. Create a new Track in Studio One and set the input to the corresponding channel you connected to the Korg. Make sure both tracks have monitoring engaged and you should be good to go!

Hey Danny! It depends on what you are trying to do with the synth. If you just want to record your synth performance by hand, you just need to connect the 1/4 audio cable to your interface and you will be good to go.

However, if you want to sequence MIDI data in Studio One to use your synth as a sound module, and/or record MIDI sequences into Studio One (as opposed to just audio information), you will need to connect both the 1/4" audio and MIDI cables. Hope that helps!

Make sure the track is armed for recording by clicking the button at the track header with the little circle in it. It will light up red. You should be good to go!

Hey there, make sure you are assigning an instance of an instrument like Presence to your MIDI keyboard to hear the sounds. If that doesn't help, please contact tech support. I will DM a link to your YouTube inbox, thanks!

Hey Anthony! We will need more info to diagnose the connection issue, but I would first make sure you're using a new MIDI cable, since it sounds like you are using older gear. While you try that, hit up our tech support team for more info. I will DM you the link to your YouTube inbox. Thanks!
