This worked for me today. Thank you so much! I have a '98 C230. Had to have my 14 year old son hold the positive jumper onto the bolt to keep from slipping off. Grounded the negative, went to the trunk...voila! It opened!

Absolute live saver. Put in new battery but left disconnect as I was going to change fuel filter. Locked out. This trick worked with battery jumpstarter pack in case any one was wondering. 2000 c230. Thanks again man.

Hey Ruslan! You just saved me a lot of headache and money with my 1998 C230! I'd removed the battery and then closed the trunk not realizing I'd be SOL. I was unsuccessful using the metal key to open the trunk.
Per your video, I found the magic connector under the hood with access to positive (+) leads, connected the new battery using jumpers, hit the trunk button on the key fob and sure enough the trunk popped open! How nice!

Ruslan!I have 2002 CLK430 and it does workMy inlaw is Mercedes mechanic here in Bay Area for 30 years and he show me that year ago, I just forgot where does the positive go that's why I google it and the key does NOT work on my case.
