The trunk will not open it once I press the button up underneath the hatch because I do not have the 2016 unlimited I've got a 2017 and I pressed the button evidently it doesn't want to unlatch what do I do

Any idea how to open the back hatch if it is stuck? I have pushed the button, but it seems to be staying in the “lock” position. Doors have been locked and unlocked multiple times.
