Beyonce STUNS With Lemonade Visual Album & Hits Number One

Records were broken, thrones were snatched back, and Beyonce basically stopped the world when she dropped “Lemonade.” But when it was time to carry on, well, let’s just say we’re all still trying to recover from it.
Yonce dropped her sixth studio album and second visual album “Lemonade” on April 23rd and she slayed us all, but really, what’s new? In true Beyonce fashion, “Lemonade” was more than just a bunch of beautiful musical visuals with a handful of celebrity cameos drawn together to recreate the success of her self-titled, first visual album. Oh no, it was so much more than that.
The film took us all on an emotional journey through a dark time in the singer’s life when she allegedly experienced infidelity in her marriage, but overall, it tackled the experiences of African American women as a whole. However, Tidal’s article said it best when it described “Lemonade” as QUOTE “a conceptual project based on every woman’s journey of self-knowledge and healing.” While the album is based on various experiences many women have gone through, it was really hard to not to imagine that Beyonce was singing directly to Jay Z when this happened.
There was just SO much emotion in ‘Don’t Hurt Yourself’ and other tracks like ‘Pray You Catch Me’ and ‘Hold Up,’ how could you not takes those lyrics literally?! The singer also had a ton of familiar faces appear in the concept film. Queens like Serena Williams, Zendaya, Amandla Stenberg, Quvenzhan Wallis, and of course a few of Yonce’s family members as well as Blue Ivy made brief cameos in the film.
But aside from the emotional theme, the amazing collaborations and all of the incredible celebrity cameos, the film also touched on a more powerful moment when the camera showed Mike Brown, Eric Garner, and Trayvon Martin’s mom holding onto their pictures during the ‘Resurrection’ chapter of the film. Not only did Yonce shock people with the powerful and emotional themes of her music and visuals, she also dabbled in a little country and R&B crossover on the album with her song “Daddy Lessons.”
I have a feeling Beyonce will probably win her first ever Country Music Award for this tune. The singer may have done an experimented with some things she’s never done before on her latest release, but one thing remains the same, anything and everyone Yonce touches just turns to gold. 24 hours after “Lemonade” was available for purchase on Tidal, the album became available to purchase for non-Tidal subscribers on iTunes and Amazon and to no one’s surprise, “Lemonade” immediately shot to number one.
As of early Monday morning, “Lemonade,” became the number one album 70 other countries including the US, obviously, and that number just keeps on climbing! Not only is her latest release a number one hit, Yonce also passed up Adele and took back her number one throne as the number one female artist on iTunes worldwide. There’s a reason why everyone calls her Queen B.
To be honest, I’m still trying to get over my lemonade hangover because that entire film was INSANE. What did you think of Beyonce’s second visual album? Was it everything you wanted and more?? Lemonade was so powerful. it was much better than I expected when Eric Garner, Mike Brown and Trayvon Martin's mothers were shown in the video. I was in tears. She showed the hardships a black woman goes through in their life and that we need to appreciate our lives more and stop the hate. Haters gonna continue to hate now because she's doing more for the black community but know this: she's already won the war before it even started. Racists, take a seat and drink the damn lemonade 🍋☕

I'm not sure what I was expecting from Beyonce, I thought it would be good. But I was completely blown away with the artistry and the concept. A beautiful evolution of Beyoncé. The bar has been raised.

I've watched Bey grow, its amazing because she is so influencial to women and as a man I am influenced. She has changed my life. After watching lemonade and listening to the album on tidal, her lyrics from gate has always been true to this day and will forever be. It's her voice that gives me life and I can see myself now clearer than I ever have before, beyonce I love you and if I never get a chance to meet you in this life I will meet you again in spirit
