I know this has a high price tag, but I love the game and do not regret getting it. One of our favorites. Also the set up and tear down is one of the best of any game ever.

My wife and friends and I all really enjoy this one. The production is so nice and it actually doesn't interfere with the gameplay so its just a big plus for this game.

I saw Alex and his wife play it and was sold. I was bummed when it was sold out, but then jumped on this past Kickstarter. I finally got to play it at TN Game Days this past weekend (just the base game). And thankfully I loved it! Definitely, needed to focus more on population in the beginning. Lol thanks for sharing your thoughts!

I love Foundations of Rome and I think having it hold value won’t be much of an issue so I’m okay with the price tag as well. I even enjoy the solo mode which can be kind of a hot take around certain crowds. 😆

Game looks beautiful and the over-production looks like it really enhances the play, but at that price it's one of those I hope someone I know has it, there's a few other games that match my taste better if I'm spending that much

FoR is very ingenious and impressive looking, and I love games that have especially elegant storage and display, but... it's a little too realistic and historical for me. 😅

Now, you could probably expect that I'd be in for a Foundations of Cybertron, but, to offer a fantasy that's perhaps a little more broader in appeal, imagine a Foundations of R'Lyeh! 🐙

Granted, that could be a little restricting if the factions are bound to just Cthulhu's Starspawn plus Dagon and Hydra, but eh.

Also, FWIW, I pronounce it "Err Lie Uh." I came up with that on my own when I first read Lovecraft as a tween, but--and I know how very, very esoteric this is--but I think the Ritual Ambient/ Funeral Doom/ Drone Metal Band Ungl'Unl'Rrlh'Chchch * enunciate R'Lyeh the same way on their track "Cthulhu Ftagn" off their untitled demo. Granted, that just might be my interpretation of their gargled growling. Plus the following, final track of the album that bears the bands name is an absolutely fantastic minute and a half of harsh noise wall. 🙃

And, hell, while I'm at it, the intro clip "Ia!, Ia!, Kthulu" to Evildamn's "Evil Dwells Out There" used to be my ring tone. 😇

This game looks amazing and over all has most players loving it. I thought about getting it to play together with my wife but we found Obsession and will never - for better or worse - look back. It hurts just a little to say no to this level of deluxification.

I'm sure it's a great game, but the real question is for its price is it better than 4 other games that you could buy? Will you play this 4 times more than the average game?

This is a fantastic game! Agreed way over produced, still wish they made a cardboard version so more people can get into the game.
