Lovely, Guruji. Homam or Havan or yajna is not complete unless there is Dhaan. So, rituals were used in ancient times to solemnly incentivize the big karthas, the doers such as nobility, the rich etc to do the giving back. That is my way to rationalize importance of rituals. Hari 🕉.

Prabhu ji, Its true Yagna is reason of creation of food. What we offer in yagna, goes to air after burning and comes back to earth along with rain. We know good rains and acid rains. So if the rains are good.then food is good, if food is not good. If food is good our life is good. This one way usefulness of yagna .
I practise Agnihotra after reading some research articles in researchgate.net which says it keeps us away from pathological diseases also.
What I understand is another useful of yagna is Not only that, whatever we offer like for example cloves, jeera etc in yagna, it will be converted to air/gas form after burning and when we inhale them it goes to lungs and absorbed immediately. This is useful to body even if our gut is not good, we are able to absorb them in pure form and effect is immediate. If we eat the same things what we offer in yagna, they will take 4 hours to digest only if our gut is good.

Ātma is not something mysterious. Because IT is nothing but our own SELF. In other words, the Consciousness or Awareness of our Existence that “I AM- ahaṃ asmi”, without which we simply don’t exist, without which our life has no meaning, is Ātma. Can we live without our own SELF? Impossible. Hence being aware of "I AM" incessantly and effortlessly is equal to being one with the Supreme Brahma.
