They may have booed him, they may have chanted "Cena sucks" but they were never quiet

“It’s not everybody, but it doesn’t have to be everybody” is such a great way to look at it. Exactly what I needed to hear. I’m glad I came across this.

Was it me or did anyone else chant both "let's go Cena" and "Cena sucks" chants

Thank you so much for asking questions a lot of us wrestling fans have. And thank you for being so kind it’s awesome to be able to watch your interviews with all these incredible talented people.

I love this perspective by John Cena. You cannot control how everyone will respond to you. What you can do is go there and do your job to the best of your ability.

Cena has the perfect attitude for wrestling... he doesn't take himself too seriously. Nor does he think he's really an actual championship fighter so he can't lose to anyone bcuz he's the toughest sob on the planet
PS: If it helps the storyline or the other person he's willing to do it, that's what being a professional is all about

Cena gets boo'd: i'm the good guy, as long as a sell merch it's all good.

Edge gets boo'd: oh i'll give them something to boo me for

Something I remember was back in 2013 after Summerslam. He announced he was going away for elbow surgery, and the crowd cheered. That was really messed up to me. And yet he still smiled when they cheered.

I remember they said in some network doc, i think it was ruthless aggression, that all the people who passionately chanted Cena sucks back then, were literally buying tickets to do that, they would go to the shows specifically to be one of the fans chanting at Cena even just on raw, which says a lot about someone’s ability to draw

See the thing that the crowd didn’t understand was that they were still giving him a bigger reaction than most of the entire roster. And that’s all Vince needed to hear. Hence the Super Cena push.

Above all that, as much as people were shouting "John Cena sucks, " I think a lot of us would be hard pressed to have found more than a couple guys to fill that slot. Man worked hard and kept at it, that's worth all the respect in the world.

Petition to WWE for inducting Dave Batista into the HOF .
Give him what he wants ( deserves )

It was hard to watch for a few years because Cena’s matches were so predictable but after Lesnar beat him at SummerSlam his stories were a lot better. Plus he added more moves to his arsenal and had good matches against AJ, Owens, Cesaro, etc

He got overexposed for a few years and his character and ring work got bogged down in a rigid formula. He was capable of more, and that's the frustrating thing. He should've had the whole crowd - he's strong, fast, dependable, can be goofy and serious and can actually work a good match. He carried Khali to a decent match for goodness sake - but WWE created the polarisation. He's only getting his respect now that the over exposure is no longer an issue and the crowd can now appreciate what he brought.

If the crowd is silent you’re doing it wrong or the gimmick isn’t working.

If you’re getting booed or cheered, you’re doing great!

Cena couldn’t hear the chants over the sound of all those merch checks getting cashed
