My patient Tom has just had Arthroscopic Shoulder Surgery for a Rotator cuff tear: 35x 20mm supraspinatus repair, including a bursectomy, acromioplasty, labral debridement and a bicep tenodesis.

He is Day 4 post-operative and doing well - here is a snapshot of where he is at and what mobility exercises he is doing for week 1 and 2.

This is perfect rehab and repair. You got the surgery and then slowly introduce movement and build up the ROM progressively then start implementing resistance to strengthen.

Too many people, to the fault of the health care, get the surgery then are sedentary and the lack of movement actually decreases the rate of recovery and that’s where the theory “you’ll never be the same again” came from

I've been told I need surgery but I'm terrified of the pain

my surgery is 5 weeks out and I am not looking forward to it.
