Unfortunately India has extremely low gold reserves less than 4% of U.S and Texas is way more productive.

Main reason is non essential goods imports from China like shoes, toys etc etc which have flooded Indian market. Made in China goods exported to India directly, or cleverly repackaged in Thailand, Bangladesh etc and exported to India.
