HRC Fertility physicians Dr. Robert Boostanfar and Dr. Sahar Wertheimer discuss "Primary Infertility" including its definition. A woman under the age of 35 with "Primary Infertility" is one who has been trying to become pregnant for at least 6 months (up to one year) and has never been pregnant before.

Dr. Wertheimer recommends seeing an infertility specialist so that they can pinpoint the cause of the issue including looking at the patients medical history as well as the partners history. She also recommends 6 tests to be completed on patients with primary infertility including ovarian reserve testing, hormone testing, having a transvaginal ultrasound, an HSG test, and completing ovulation tracking. The male partner is recommended to have a semen analysis. She also recommends a few additional tests including a Thyroid test, a Vitamin D level test, an A1C test, and recessive carrier testing.

Dr. Wertheimer also discusses when are the best chances to achieve a successful pregnancy.
