"A Song of Ice and Fire (commonly abbreviated as ASoIaF) is an ongoing series of epic fantasy novels by American novelist and screenwriter George R. R. Martin. Martin began writing the series in 1991 and the first volume was published in 1996. The story of A Song of Ice and Fire takes place in a fictional world, primarily on a continent called Westeros but also on a large landmass to the east, known as Essos. Most of the characters are human but as the series progresses others are introduced, such as the cold and menacing supernatural Others from the far North and fire-breathing dragons from the East, both thought to be extinct by the humans of the story. There are three principal story lines in the series: the chronicling of a dynastic civil war for control of Westeros among several competing families; the rising threat of the Others, who dwell beyond an immense wall of ice that forms Westeros' northern border; and the ambition of Daenerys Targaryen, the exiled daughter of a king who was murdered in another civil war fifteen years before, to return to Westeros and claim her rightful throne. As the series progresses, the three story lines become increasingly interwoven and dependent upon each other."

Which Valyrian steel weapon / item is your favorite?

I love the way you distinguish each of the blades in your art - especially due to not having official images of a bunch of them! Glad to have you back buddy :)

I love how Tywin is begging anyone a literal mountain of gold for their sword, and still doesn’t get it, while Jeor Mormont gives Jon his ancestral sword for saving him

Fun fact about Harras Harlaw. That bit mentioned during the taking of the shield forgoes a really badass point. Harras beating 7 opponents back to back (slaying 5) allows him to conquer the entire island and seize the castle. That's right, the guy literally conquers an entire goddamn island BY HIMSELF. What a madlad.

Zolo the Fat has a regular Arakh. It’s Caggo Corpse Killer that owns the Valyrian Steel Arakh. He uses it at Astapor and in the dragon pit of the great pyramid in Meereen to kill a Brazen Beast. 100% Zolo has a regular arakh

Respect for taking Lady offscreen before her retirement.

Interesting how the Starks were the only great house with a valerian steel sword at start of the books

You forgot Dornish Masterplan, the Valyrian steelsword of Ser Preston Jacobs

Love the fact that after reforging Ned Stark’s Valyrian sword, Tywin then gave one of them to Joffrey, who proceeded to name it with an edgiest name ever “Widow’s Wail” and used it to strike on a formidable enemy: a book.

I know it was actually pretty rare, but I like to imagine a scenario where Valyrian steel was as common to the Valyrian as hydrocarbons are to us.

Person from a dystopian future where civilization has been factory reset: "This is my family's ancestral bow, Moon Piercer! It's made from a lightweight yet strong material that's now impossible to make! My family slew the dread wight Fanagoria to liberate this weapon! It is considered a priceless artifact in these lands!"

Person from modern day: "You mean that compound bow? Yeah it's nice but we used to sell those for like 750 a piece at Cabela's."

Most Westerosi houses: use longswords
House Celtigar: "We don't do that here!"

Hey Fantasy Haven, you think you can make a video explaining every sellsword company? They are my favorite part of A Dance with Dragons.

Love the details in your videos. Giving Tywin golden flecks in his green eyes is great. Also the many unique styles of the valyrian steel weapons

Valyrian steal is so rare, yet John Snow has had dealings with three different ones. Two in Winterfell and one by the Wall.

Love all the redesigns this video all of them upgrades and all the new characters. In particular really like the Florent Bastard, the Blue Fox looks really good. I’ve always found Tywin’s relationship with Valyrian Steel quite odd: he’s annoyed House Lannister doesn’t have one, trying to buy one on at least three occasions from less wealthy Houses but all turn him down. But why is he? Given all we’ve known about them, none of the big Houses except at the time House Stark have one and two of them Greyjoy and Targaryen lost theirs. And then when he does manage to get two of them, he gives them away to Joffrey and Jaime! Jaime I can understand, Tywin sees him as his heir, but Joffrey! Come on Tywin at least keep one for yourself mate. Also this is a headcannon but I definitely think he tried to buy Longclaw and Lady Forlorn.

When HotD is over I would love to see the reigns of Aegon III and Viserys II animated in your style, It's a fascinating period of Westeros' history and I am in no way trying to get you to animate Sandoq the Shadow's epic stand on the drawbridge to Maegor's Holdfast

I love the sword slicing sound effects so much. 😆
It adds a touch of humor to otherwise serious subject matter. Well done, ser! ⚔️

I don't think that it is Zollo who owns a valyrian steel arakh but rather Caggo the Corpsekiller of the Windblown

Glad to have you back, so close to 50k. Really feel like GRRM needs to give some more houses Valyrian steel weapons; the stormlands especially, with their martial tradition, feels like Marchers especially should have them. Caron, Swann, Trant, Morrigen, Connington...although maybe Connington will get one? And some loser houses, too. It would be fun if House Rosby had a Valyrian steel sword. Nightfall is the coolest in the main story IMO.

Isn't Caggo Corpsekiller of the Windblown the one with the Valyrian steel arakh?
