The RTX 4080 is a decent card but the pricing is just not fair, 900$ would've also been acceptable.Its quite a bit slower than the 4090 but costs 1200$ MSRP still, overall 20-30% faster than the 3090

The non reference models in Australia are on average $2500, I remember paying $1100 for the MSI 1080ti when it came out. Gpu pricing after the whole crypto/covid/chip shortage nonsense has been ridiculous, and I dont think things will ever go back to normal because the cards still sell regardless of the crazy prices. It's a shame

Despite the price, I believe this GPU is gonna age like fine wine. Going from 10&12GB VRAM from the RTX 3080 (ti) to a whopping 16GB VRAM on the RTX 4080 (super) while also consuming 30 W less than 350 W proves how such a great job Nvidia did at this job compared to what they’ve just done to the RTX 5080 except the huge AI TOPS improvements.

Ill stick with my 3080 for 1440p gaming for now. And hopefully in a few years display port 2.1 monitors will be more common and worth it to upgrade too

Look at the VRAM usage. I am so happy I returned a 3060ti I recently bought. I am pushing ultra 1440p and that consumes a lot of vram depending on the game!

Unfortunately as far as the performance of the card is concerned, it is very disappointing for the steep price. $800-900 would have been a bit more palatable. Gonna keep my 3070.

Almost like Nvidia just threw all their eggs into the 4090 basket and then forgot about proper price scaling for lower tiers. I bet when they "relaunch" the 4070 based model it will be $899 MSRP or higher. This is insanity.

The 4080 probably is too expensive, considering AMD's $1K GPU will probably be quite a bit faster (though that's AMD's own benchmarks still), though it would be still better than the 7900XTX on RTX that some games have. Either way, I am glad Kryzzp is enjoying some quality time on this GPU🙂.
