Water Slide Accident

This is a video I managed to catch on tape of this kid trying to catch air on the mat coaster slide when things go horribly wrong.

That's why they should have safety nests over the entire slide. Hard to control some people.

I'm a lifeguard at a park that has a slide very similar to this. In fact, we use the exact same mats. Too many times have I seen kids, teens, and even adults attempt to get on their knees or stand on the mats while going down. Now, fortunately, in the 10 years the park has been open we have NEVER had a life-threatening injury occur on one of the rides. When a lifeguard or dispatcher tells you how to ride, just ride the way you're supposed to.
