These cards were the first to introduce me to marvel. My uncle gave me some of his collection around 97 when I was 10 years old before he died. I still have the ones he gave me in a folder in storage.

fun stuff, I would have a hard time setting the cards down even on a clean counter without being in a plastic penny sleeve. Those grading companies are tough, even the smallest knick and they dock your grade. pack of penny sleeves are a buck, I would open the pack and put the cards directly into the penny sleeves in order to keep them corners nice and pack fresh

Definitely my favorite Marvel Masterpieces sets from the 90s, best combination of art and layout/look aka overall design and finish to the cards overall, plus amazing art on the base set and the two cool subsets plus the gold foil signature base cards to give you a 3rd subset to try to collect basically. I bought a box of these back in the 90s, I want to say the year it came out or just around when the 95 set was coming out or had came out. Only thing is I know I got the silver holofoil set of cards not the bronze or gold from Walmart boxes or I think it was Jumbo boxes or box of jumbo packs, yet I am nearly positive I got the box of cards from a Walmart or Target because the only comic/card store in the town I grew up in I think closed around the time 95-96 year time frame or so and would have cost way more from there than I would have been able and willing to pay. This box actually led me to get a few other sports card boxes from I want to say Walmart after one was built a year to few years after the card/comic shop closed in the Portland suburb I grew up in. I got a lot of great holofoil and Powerblast cards as well as signature series ones. Almost sure I got an entire base set of cards, but 1-2 in this video did not look familiar.

Nice score on the black panther. I never thought these cards would be more than 20 bucks for the set. I was really wrong. Glad I kept my 96 set.i like the rogue card best.

I just made an incredible find at a card show and I have 2 of every card in this set now, (not just the base set, but everything, just not every holofoil, thats the only incomplete portion of the set) and everything is mint (8 or better across the board). I am having trouble getting information on what the 20 or so most desirable cards are. I know I shouldnt just grade everything right away. Indy Card Exchange near my house has a raw card review for 2 dollars, and I am going to use that as a resource for figuring out what cards may gem, but if anyone loves this set and has an opinion on the first cards they would grade that info would be much appreciated. These are beautiful cards. I am a collector and a long time channel viewer, just never made a find of this magnitude. This set could really put a dent in the pop report I think, especially at sgc if I go that route. Thanks all.
