They just don't make em the same anymore better off with a old model.

2015 3.5 Ecoboost with over 130k miles. Zero engine issues. Change oil with synthetic every 5k miles with the filter, use tier 1 gasoline, replace PCV valve, Spark plugs and Coolant every 50k miles. No catch can and no intake valve cleaning because they are Clean. 3rd generation mechanic and engine builder.

Had mine replaced in my 2019 at 45k miles with the Gen3 phasers. Oil changed at dealership since new every 3-5k.

Does this affect the drivability of the truck at all or is it just the annoying rattling at the start?

They go bad due to auto start at stop lights.
