Ok here is an explanation
So Gil was hurting Georgia and Austin shot Gil with a gun after he saw his mom was being hurt by Austin father aka Gil Ginny wanted to call the cop but they didn’t because then Austin would have had to go to juvie for having or even using a gun and because in the beginning Georgia asked is Zach not not in school is because Zach is Austin bully and when Zach broke Austin glasses that was the last straw Georgia took care and Austin punched in the nose.
