“do not lie to someone who’s paranoid and violet”
“if you flicker alive”

what breaks my heart is the way his voice breaks, he’s speaking from experience in treating victims of domestic violence…

As a very paranoid person (my entire life), I can say, this man is spot on every word....

As an individual who had suffered from paranoia I cannot stress enough what Dr Peterson is saying is an absolute truth.
If one's paranoid and the person sitting in front lies - they can do a lot of damage.

My husband is like this. He has PTSD from childhood abuse. I’m an extremely honest person. But he always thinks I’m against him.

I have severe anxiety and paranoia and this explains exactly how i watch everyone

People who I catch being dishonest I can never trust again and as such I don't want them around me. Lying says a lot about people's morals and reliability

Knowing this instinctively has saved my life many times. Edit the screen text “flicker a lie” not “flicker alive”

I have hyper vigilance, I'm always checking my surroundings and have almost a constant fear of being attacked or not being prepared for one . Practicing Meditation and self realization/self awareness helps the most in relaxing my anxiousness and paranoia. Hopes this helps others.

Once a person lies, everything that comes out their mouth might as well be too. It’s a shame. Been dealing with paranoia my whole life. The hard shy is when it becomes true. The relief when you are wrong is fantastic. Like being on a high. But

I just absolutely LOVE this man!! I went to therapy 20 years (off and on due to multiple family deaths in tragic unexpected manners). He is so knowledgeable and spot on. I wish there were thousands of Jordans to help all the many ppl who are hurting in this world.

Jordan Peterson will always tell you lying is always a worse idea than whatever else you could do

My boyfriend was hyper paranoid, and when he did drugs like meth, it amplified that paranoia .. he would get mad at me if I didn't believe what he insisted was the cause of the threat.. I found that if I said the following it helped .. I would simply say " I believe you believe what you say is happening, that if it's real in your mind, then it's real to you", this way I didn't lie and I wasn't viewed as someone against him..

The students who got to sit through jordans lectures were unbelievable lucky to have a tutor/lecturer/professor like him

One of my parents is just as Jordan describes. The exception to this is when the person knows you well enough to know you aren’t telling them everything. Which is just as bad as a lie, because now they know your hiding something from them. The person then takes that thought to 100 mph and wants you to tell them everything you’ve ever hidden from them. I learned very young that if I told the truth, partial or whole, I was getting a beating either way. At least if I told the whole truth, I only got it once. Once I was big enough, and old enough, I made myself just as dangerous, to even the playing field. After a few more years, I gained the ability to be exponentially more dangerous if I have to be. When Jordan says a man should dangerous and capable of violence while having the discipline and self control to conduct himself properly, he is 100% correct. Never dismiss the nice, polite, and quiet guy that keeps to himself.

I'm actually hyper vigilant, been so my entire life. I can say that this is entirely accurate.

This man speaks the truth. I’ve been in some situations in bad neighbourhoods with sketchy characters more than once over the years. How you talk to them and your body language is crucial.

I'm dealing with this right now with a friend. And not sure what to do. I'm glad I saw this clip.
