I wish I didn't live in Northern Illinois where every fishery has a foot thick layer of algae and scum on the bottom. Really limits the baits I can use which is unfortunate because I love worming and jigging.

Small mouths are mean asf, brave too, I hooked one about that size 3 times before I finally got him on the fourth cast, he just poked his head above water and spit the hook like it was a game. They can feel like absolute rocks in the water if they’re big and stubborn enough. Fun fish though.

dang. Now this explains the amount of hooksets I've had and there was "nothing" there haha. Small fish or even bass probably swipe the weight first! This bass was eyeing that weight, though he was going to take it before he even noticed the lure!

I had a day when i got more hits on my picasso weight than my lure, put a ned rig down there, nothing, cut the hook off the ned so it was just a silly looking weight and caught fish 🤷‍♂️

They schould put a hook on the lead i can see in the water where i fisch and it got more strikes then the bait itself lol

Nice underwater footage. Makes sense now why I feel two bites, I thought they were strikes but this is finesse, not reaction. Need to work on not reacting to bites and auto hook setting + getting use to reeling in to set. Slower paced fishing, or in other words, finesse. 👍I like it, it really gives me time to enjoy the view while I'm fishing by feel.
