Hey, this is a great video. Remember my ambition idea for distributor platform? I wanted to create a series of videos of “how to work with DIY distribution services from the “zero”. Yesterday I got reply on my propose. As I understood they aren’t interested in creating that kind of video content. But still 85/15 distribution (basic). The idea was to be a content creator from one side and at the same time to be synced( cuz I’m using my music showing how I work with the services. Maybe my numbers are too low to have commercial interest. So, numbers and growth graph is very important fir label or sponsor. Anyway, I’ve prepared around 30 compositions to be released this year. I don’t want to have any fake numbers on my accounts. This is another chance to struggle the failure! Man, your channel makes me stronger. Thank you for your advices. I will be using you pro active advices to grow as much as I can!

Valuable insight! I think the importance of live performance skills is often lost to many artists coming up. Hope more of them watch this video!

Bobby, this was GREAT content. Gonna share with our colleagues. I think the main thing is treating your music like a business. I often wonder once you get to the point of a label truly considering you, will you need them? I loved his "marriage" example. great stuff! Happy New Year! - Susan

Why would he calculate a band’s “value” based on streams and followers rather than merch, digital, and physical sales? An independent band’s worth and motivation will be evident from their self-generated sales, not their vanity metrics. It’s up to a label to demonstrate how they'll scale those sales in exchange for what they're asking for in a deal. Unless they can do that, I'd rather wear five hats than one scarf any day of the week.

My sons best friends from high school just got signed with a subsidiary of Warner brothers- u pop? This kid was the worse guitar player in high school. I mean when we moved to key west he would start playing anywhere and I thought wow he is so bad?? But they just signed and he is 32! The group is “Deeper”. I think the deal was about 500k but hey they will be playing around the world!! Check them out!! Peace and love as ringingly would say!!!
