A Faster F2L Look Ahead Technique (CFOP)

Matching stickers makes you track too much information at once. I show a method where you track less info, making look ahead much easier.

Using the code "JPERM" supports my channel and also gives you a discount on your order.

0:00 How
1:11 Recognizing cases faster
3:48 Save rotation time
4:20 Corner in opposite slot
5:48 Predicting first pair

Recognizing orientation is not ALWAYS better than matching stickers or any other way. A lot of my recognition comes from "intuition" or "I just know", but the orientation technique is the best way I can explain where that intuition actually comes from.

For predicting first pair during inspection, this recognition technique is the #1 reason I can do it in under 15 seconds.

My cross to F2L video with examples (using this technique):

This is the exact technique that I have been using for months. When I was experimenting with cfop it just came naturally for me because zz relies heavily on edge orientation.

This is amazing, thank you. I'm going to have to watch it about 20 more times. 😂

What's funny is that I actually use the top color to recognize a good/bad edge faster. I initially used your method of recognition, but I found myself glancing left and right too often which was somewhat tiring. So now I just look at the top color of the edge & the front center color facing me. They must be the same or opposite, else I rotate! But thanks for your videos anyway...they're super helpful ^_^

Wow, amazing job continuing to create beautiful, short videos. I used to be a fanatic for the Rubik's cube, but then I lost interest. And now 8 months later, I'm thinking of finally putting some serious work into my F2L. Especially look ahead, which you so generously are giving advise on in nearly every video.

Thanks, this is going to help so much with my F2L. Also, I loved the way you filmed the solves in the end, it made the video seem very professional.

This is immensely helpful, thank you! And it made me realize that this also applies to an edge that is in a slot with the corner on the top (i.e. if doing an R or L move to bring the edge up makes it a bad edge, then a rotation is needed). Brilliant stuff <3

I always thought that your previous video on this topic was really good, but was still a bit confusing in some parts. This is much better :D

No one talks about this and imo it's really important for the 9-12 second range. Gj on making this!

This is gonna help, my F2L needs to much work, my look ahead too, sometimes I catch myself doing tons of turns on one case and just think to myself after wards like “There was definitely a waayyyy quirked way to do that”
