i found one that's actually 6 moves, for the same case.

if the unsolved pair is on the right, do this algorithm.
R' U' (turn cube towards the right) L' U L F
and then insert the pair

if the unsolved pair is on the left, do this algorithm.
L U (turn cube towards the left) R U' R' F'
and then insert the pair
