So many people only use a Walmart plastic pumpkin—I always still carve a real punk. I put a candle in & leave it burning into the night to light the way for anyone who may be traveling or visiting, from both sides of the veil, and as an honor to my family who are on the Other Side. I leave a plate of cookies or bread out on the kitchen table. I sprinkle salt around the doorways to protect the house from evil coming in. And always say a prayer. Halloween feels like the end of the year to me. Nov. 1 feels like New Year’s. Maybe a holdover from the fun we used to have as kids, Halloween was great fun at our house; we got almost as wrung up as at Christmas. Happy Halloween! 😊🎃

I bake soul cakes and place them out, then light a candle and burn a juniper sprig.then after November 3, I crush the cakes and sprinkle crumbs around the garden.

Love your videos!!! The casting a circle with the pumpkins is brilliant. This Halloween everyone coming to my daughter's house will bring a picture of an ancestor to put on her ancestor alter, and with the picture they are to bring a dish of food to share thst was associated with them..I love this idea and hope it becomes a new tradition.

Another wonderful video, I adore the witch tips you have been posting. Good information, my family always carves pumpkins and this is just a little extra to bring happiness to the celebration. It is a busy few days preparing for Samhain. We always have a feast for our Ancestors with baked breads and delicious cakes, and of course since my family has Scottish ancestors that little touch of whiskey for them.🎃🎃

Hi Ginny, I am dabbling a little in witchcraft. Tonight is the New Moon, I wrote down my intentions on pieces of paper, such as words as peace and patience (harmony) I wrote the words in four languages, such as English, German, Spanish, and French. I am starting small. I am interested in candles and herbs. I should do a nature walk while it is still nice here in Minnesota USA and find a stick for my wand, using it to cast my circle. I could paint in different colours/colors and tying pretty ribbons and perhaps gluing glitter. Creativity and imagination are my super powers. Ginny, you are an absolute joy.
