i've read the books hundred times and i don't think they showed in the movie how serious it was, Tris almost died in the books. In the movie she's like: oh well Four gets it lets go stand behind this wall.

Uhh the book was so much more dramatic. Tris was beaten up, groped, and dangled over the chasm. The movie scene was so underwhelming. They just kinda grab her and hold her next to the edge

I didn’t see it when I was consumed in fan forking excitement that the world had come to life, but all of those scenes were SO MUCH MORE in the book. Al smelling of soap and lavender - they could have at least made it mysterious. They CARRYING HER in her sleep, her being blindfolded, the PTSD from that happening to her, the slight assault. The way that Four reacted to that. The fact that Four is usually loud and when he’s quiet when he’s angry, that’s big. But he was so loud and so enraged in that moment - all of the times that Tris had her thoughts at the cafeteria table and the REALLY REALLY torn relationship between her what her parents want for her and what she wants and she can’t seem to stray away from that. Dauntless cake! Awesome characters that didn’t get much input!
The movie did convey some of these things with emotion especially the knife seem and the fear simulations -REALLY could have done better with Four’s. So I loved it, loved the tattoos and everything. But now I realise that they didn’t really highlight her insecurities and that she thought she was now striking and not beautiful. So much that they missed... except for my favourite quote “what doesn’t shut you down wakes you up [I’ve seen it]”

Get over it, she has just come back from finding out her brother has basically left her, then gets back to almost being pushed of a cliff, then she finds out one of her best mates was one of the peoples who tried to kill her

I'm cringing at how inaccurate this was. Tris was hung over the chasm, not pushed by it. Then she was unconcious and four carried her to his room. Book was much better

I watched the movie never read the book but the way ppl are describing how the scene actually was in the book makes me mad that Four didn't carry her back to his room
