Hey John! Great video! I just started building a mini ramp in my garage and I've found your videos to be very imformative and inspiring! I'm in a similar situation as you were, my local ramps are all pretty whippy but I really want something I can skate and progess on for a long time. I'm going with a 2' overall height and a 6' radius. Stay rad!

You've certainly got a great repertoire of stunts now at your disposal. Great job, can't wait to come round and give her a spin!

It was a good idea to build the ramp with the dimensions you did. Else you probably wouldn't have learned so much so quickly. You had a headstart on me (started riding the ramps again in March 2020) and I had to learn on a steeper concrete Ramp. I consider myself quite decently talented (skater buddies already call me a fast learning skateboarder) spend quite some time in the park and am a few years younger. But you have way more tricks in the book than I do. I'd love to have a ramp like yours to learn new tricks on. For frontside stalls I had to go to another park with a baby quarter to find the courage to dropping back in for example.

For the next paint, you should consider using boat paint. That's most resistant against wear and tear. I am dreaming of having my own Miniramp, too. Maybe ... someday... :-)

Porch & patio floor paint has been working well on my mini. Might be worth a try to compare durability. Does get a little slippery when it's in need of a recoat.

Great stuff!! Careful with the extension. I built a 2x4 quarter with a fairly steep trans. Hit the coping with a bit of gusto and it can tip backward a bit. 'Emotional!!'. Make sure the extension is bolted/fixed 👍

Great video! I’ve been playing with the idea of building a miniramp this year and was wondering about the upkeep. I just have a quarter I keep in the garage right now. What are the dimensions of your ramp?
