Learn how to build a DIY mini ramp in your backyard! This skateboarding ramp is easy to build with basic construction materials and tools. It's obviously big, but it's relatively easy to make. If you've ever wanted to make your own skateboard ramp, hopefully this sets you on the right path!

When Jay was younger he lived with a bunch of friends and they built a diy halfpipe/mini ramp in their basement. It was super fun to skate but the low ceilings made for some interesting hazards. Many years later, we're finally fulfilling a childhood dream of building a proper sized mini ramp in our backyard (no more hitting our heads on the ceiling: bonus).

Skateboarding has been a big part of Jay's life since he was a kid and we couldn't be more excited to start introducing our son to it in the raddest way possible.

outdoor house paint is a great idea. for some reason back in the late 80's when we skated mini ramps, nobody had done this. we went thru a new layer of masonite every year even in Phx.. $1200 is a great price for a complete mini.. im considering this now! (at 51)

Looks great. Clean work. The only thing I would add is a basic railing on top. There's definitely some tricks where you might end up on the deck and it's easy to fall off the back.

You can sharpen your drill bits with an angle grinder. It's worth it. Also use oil for drilling metal

Make sure the grain of the plywood is going horizontal when you bend it. It's obvious to most but just adding that bit of info.
