Weird for some reasons the little stars are NOT following me when i destroy the stones so i cant activate it...am i doomed?

I couldn’t do this without Mona. The lantern only absorbed the thing when I “sprinted” as Mona. Is that a bug or are only the lucky and broke only able to do this?

I get the geo stone stars and take them to the lanterns but they won't activate. I'm AR29 >_>
