People were born, spent their entire lives learning to build, dedicated their life to building this, then died after passing their skills to their children many times over before it was completed. The people that started building this did it knowing not even their children’s children’s children would live to see it finished. That’s inspiring to me.

People don’t understand how expensive the cost of labor has become, the cost of raw materials/their scarcity, the price of the energy it takes to ship everything. Everything up and down the chain has become exponentially more expensive

We didn't stop. Most buildings from that time are gone. Same with us. Only a few buildings from our time will be worth keeping either
