You forgot the absolute #1 myth in Dota 2.

MYTH: The pros know what heroes are good and what heroes are bad.

Just because every pro in the world refuses to play a hero doesn't make them bad, it just makes them unplayed. It means you don't HAVE high-level data on that hero, which can even be to your advantage, especially at high MMRs where players often base everything they do on what they've seen professionals do.

But it works both ways. Just because the pros pick a certain in literally every single game doesn't make the hero good. Most professionals pick based on what are their comfort heroes. These are the heroes they have the most time invested in and mechanically know them very well. If a common comfort pick becomes especially bad, then you will usually see that hero picked MORE often in more games. And the reason is that it isn't getting banned, but if it's one of their most-played heroes and their better heroes are banned, they'll go with a bad hero that they are comfortable with.
