Jason’s pedal line is really something special; I’ve wanted an MF-4 for awhile to get another Russian fuzz fix. Lol

Really digging your tasty-as-hell riffs on this video! Cool quick rundown! Cheers!

This is a great video. Thanks!
I like that you are playing other music than just Sleep covers with this pedal. It is versatile. I think it sounds close to a OR120 cranked when you run it into the right amp. I used mine with a Ampeg VL503 and a Sunn SL120 both sounded great and had the bottom end. I like this pedal for songs that have leads that need some clarity. It sounds great with low tunings also.

Is this a hat I can simply put in my chain to cop massive Orange/Green stack tones, or should I go with something like Architext of Reality - even a DoesitDoom???

I play p90 guitars and baritones into a Fender Deluxe Reverb Tonemaster - and it’s never met a pedal it didn’t like!

It seems like you have a hard time getting a good sound from a few pedals... this and the Catalinbread Sabbra Caddabra... Am I right?

I think it sounds great. Maybe not as tweakable as a Dunwich 120 or Ananashead Effects GT73, but contains some very usable tones . I believe the Fet120 is based on an OR120, whereas the Dunwich 120 is pure dopesmoker, and the Ananashead GT73 is probably the closet to an original Matamp-120.

I'm thinking of grabbing one as my current OD crapped out on me, but i'd read some reports that it doesn't do well with other saturation pedals. Apparently it sounds really kickass in an effects loop...

Kinda wish it was a bit smaller tho lol...

I didn't like this pedal as a stand alone dirt pedal after my sd1 (which is why I purchased it). There's not that much headroom and when I do turn up the volume and gain where I would like it, it's much too noisy. But in saying that, it's definitely kicking my sd1 off the board. As a boost it's fantastic. Thanks for the video

Try this, I have the same pedal, get a Drone Master or Rat, Doomcaster, and Hypercoven. Chain it like this; Hypercoven set at 11 o' clock, into the Drone Master or Rat max settings, then go into the FET120 level (gain at around 3 o' clock & level at half, treble/bass both at 1 o' clock, and then into the Doomcaster set at 2 o'clock. Thats how I play Drone Metal, and it almost sounds like Sunn O))).

I like the pedal, had to play with it, but I like the gain, treble, & bass at 2 o' clock position most of the time. Just like you did, I will use the FET120 pushing the Frost Giant AOR for High On Fire and Sleep tones. Since I like it dirty and nasty, I have no problem maxing the gain, even into the dirty channel of my Orange CR120H amp. I have tried it in the FX loop, didn't like it there, I prefer it hitting the amp in the front. The FET120 gives me a different sound than my other distortion pedals and I like how it breaks up at max gain.

Meanwhile i think it's a little odd to make a supergroup sound like a Matamp or a Sunn? Why didn't you buy the real thing then? Ok...it might be crazy expensive or just unobtainable 🤔
I built a Coda Effekts black hole (FET based Sunn Model T preamp)...i really wanted to like it. I just couldn't bond with it...even left me thinking maybe that Sunn sounds shitty, too. So i think i can understand you.

It's not great, it has some uses. I thought I was deaf, heard some demos and didn't like the sounds. I think it's living on borrowed time because it lingers on the fumes of doom metal.
