I think a “using reverb/delay in a doom metal context” video from you would be awesome. 🤘

Tuner mid chain to mute noisy fuzz pedals - why the heck didn't I think of that! Genius tip - ta!

Ok, my rig is pretty complex, so follow along on this wet/dry/wet adventure:
Guitar into Ibanez Screaming Demon wha-wha, into Big Muff Ram's Head, into Korg tuner, into NUX Horseman overdrive, into buffer, into Neon FX tri-paralel mixer.
CH1 of mixer to Fender Champ for dry
CH2 of mixer to LEFT input of TC Electronics Plethora X5, LEFT output to Orange Crush Mini running a 1x12 cabinet
CH3 of mixer to RIGHT input of Plethora X5, Right output to Fender Super 210
I have a Realistic 10 Band stereo EQ in the FX loop of the Plethora X5

Jason, this was the most helpful video you have put out in at least three months. THANK YOU. If my guitar is in the same tuning as yours, the Fuzzlord Drone Master is the only other one I need. (I have a Hizumitas to do modern stuff, and an old Shin-Ei to do the Cream/Hendrix tones.) Cheers!

I just recently downsized my board to 5 pedals in the following seq:
1) EHX Flatiron Fuzz;
2) Way Huge Swollen Pickle mk3;
3) EQD Tentacles;
4) ZOOM MS-70 CDr
5) Keeley ECCOS

Running in stereo!
Its all there, fuzz gain stacking, octave mayhem, tuner n tonsof rev n mods from the ZOOM, and looping + mod tape delays from the ECCOS

Thank you for this video Jason. I am thinking of putting together a Doomgaze board and marrying the Doom Fuzz with the ethereal Reverbs of Shoegaze so this video definitely helped me out in narrowing down what pedals I want for that.

My Main Board is my "Do Everything Board" for the Genres and Subgenres I like to play. I am an old school fan of Danelectro pedals so I have a few on my board. My main effects are Dirt, Reverb, and Echo/Delay. Here is my pedal layout.

My board is a Gator Extra Large green board with two Gator Bricks (an 8 spot and a 5 spot) for power. In addition to those the milliamp draw on two pedals exceeds the bricks so two pedals require wall warts. I have all of these running into a power strip (so it just one cable underneath the board so out of sight) and I have an LED light strip under the board. My pedals run in the following order:
Boss TU-3, Ibanez Tubescreamer Mini, ProCo Rat 2*, EHX Big Muff Pi*, Danelectro Cool Cat Chorus (18 volt model), Danelectro Dan Echo* (Slap Back setting), Danelectro Dan Echo* (Spacey setting), EHX Oceans 11 (mainly for Shimmer but does other things), Source Audio True Spring (mainly Surf style reverb), Orion Effekt Kafka (dark echo), Ibanez Echoshifter, Walrus Audio Slo (I use these to play around with on the fly as noisemakers and ethereal settings).

*Means pedals was modified by Alchemy Audio.

I cover a lot of genres but my wheelhouse is mainly Punk, Alt Country, and Garage Rock. I was over the moon when I found out my Dirt pedals covered Doom as well. The order is mainly to get the most out of placement and for this to be able to get Shoegaze and Dream Pop sounds too. Some pedals are meant more as a stand alone rather then a chain of 2-4 pedals for a.certain sound. I do want to get one more Reverb, an Oceans 3 (for both function and space) and put it in-between the TU3 and the Tubescreamer (it's the only Shoegaze formula that isn't covered on this yet for a Plate Reverb before Dirt sound). I'm very happy and the board is super clean with the power wires hid beneath the board and tidied up with zip ties and anchors. There is enough real estate on the board that it is convenient to turn on all pedals as they are not super crowded. Besides the size the only downsize of this board is that it weighs as much as the amp it is running into, a Roland JC 120. That said the tones are EXACTLY what I have been looking for.

I have two other pedal boards (my OG Rockabilly/Psychobilly board and my budget Garage Rock board I put on a skateboard deck).

For the Doomgaze Board I have at least one pedal that will go on it, a DOD Carcosa Fuzz. I want to get a Fuzzlord FET120 and probably some sort of Tubescreamer ahead of both of these. For Reverb I am thinking of a Soft Focus as well as an Afterneath pedal to put before and behind the Dirt pedals. Probably an EHX Canyon for Echo. That said it's still theoretical at this point and I am trying to avoid a repeat of my main board (even though it can Doomgaze as well). All other effects I really don't touch all that much.

Again, great video.😎👍✨

My board has a Dunlop Original Crybaby wah, Behringer Super Fuzz SF 300, Amazon Basic Boost, Lyon Distortion, Boss Metal Zone MT-2, Digitech The Weapon ( set on the sitar setting), Boss BF-2 Flanger, Boss PH-3 Phase Shifter, Boss TR-2 Tremolo, Behringer Digital Delay DD400, DOD Echo FX Analog Delay, Mooer Pitchbox, and last is the Boss CS-3 Compression Sustainer.

Current Board:
Cry Baby Jr > Green Screamer > Swollen Pickle MKII > Magus Pro > Heavy Menace > Gauss Tape Echo > Rowin Tuner > Amp
Then:
FX Send > MXR 10 Band EQ > Reverb > FX Return.

Also, slowly but surely working on Fuzzlord board. So far, I have the Doom Screamer, the MF-4, and the Void Master.

My go to doom combo is Black Arts Pharoah into MXR Fullbore. I can build any sound I want around those two. I put a higher gain fuzz in front of the Pharoah. Usually an Abominable Demon Lung or Spaceman Sputnik. A lower gain overdrive or boost can go after the Fullbore if desired. Modulation and time based effects after. Strymon Mobius, Timeline, Empress Reverb, Neunaber Immerse. I usually stick to just the gain pedals when playing Doom or any kind of metal. Once I start adding the other stuff I end up playing ambient music.

current board set up is a big muff tone wicker, catalinbread csidman for some crazy droney, glitchy delay stuff, the dunlop crybaby from hell wah, a behringer ultra vibrato (looking to replace w a chorus soon) and a classic HM-2. crunchy, glitchy noisy goodness all round

clairvoyant.

Peterson Strobe, Lovepedal Valve Reamer, JPTR FX Warlow, Behringer Vintage Delay, Morley Emerald Echo. Appreciate the input you provide on these videos!

Running a Hotone volume/wah, mxr poly blue octave, diy semi-parametric EQ, klon, then my main dirt pedals are either a metal zone or a rat, then either a EQD Hizumitas or a DOD carcosa. For reverb I use a walrus Slö and for delay I’m using a source audio nemesis which has a pretty good space echo setting. All of this running into my Orange thunderverb

EQD Hoof fuzz and an HM-2 set like a tube screamer with distortion at 0 and level up if you’ve lost your mind

I don’t usually play doom but I put my Hizumitas with an HM2 in front which I use directly into an IR Loader with a Vintage 60s Fender Super Reverb 4x10 Cab Sim

My pedal board is absurd, I need to streamline this, but I end up always adding instead.

Black Mountain Volume > (TU-2) > Dan-Echo > JHS Bonsai > Tumnus > (Boss NS-2 > Muffuletta > SF300 Super Fuzz > Lizard Queen > Hendrix Wah > DS-1) > Dan-Electro Spinning Speaker > EHX Mod 11> JHS Spring Tank (UV300 Vibrato in the reverb trails) > Lucky Cat Delay > JHS Octave Reverb > DD-5 (Stereo Output > Stereo Input) White Tape Delay > (Stereo Output 1 > Holy Grail Reverb > Bassman 59) Stereo Output 2 > Orange Crush 20RT

As much as I like the JHS Ocatve Reverb, the Spectral Realm looks like a solid replacement, and I really want a FuzzLord pedal on my board.

My new setup is the monoprice tuner, joyo 808 clone, sound cake reverb, rowin nous gate. Run through a krank rev jr 20.
