The triggers go bad over time. Buy the replacement part and save it as a back up or one you can give away to a friend or relative. 😊

The battery could be bad. Hook up a good battery, positive to positive and negative to negative. Wait 10 minutes then put the bad battery back and test it..

Try taking a q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol and clean the battery contacts on the battery and the saw. Sometimes it works

I bought my worm drive Makita saw over 30 years ago. Still working great. Just plug it in.

I can hear my husband saying the same thing and being just as excited 😂

Upgrade to the dcs565 a much better tool than the 391, it is brushless and the battery lasts twice as long

Battery powered tools are harder on brushes . Replace the brushes. Unless you seen smoke. Then it is toast.

Couldn't agree more about the circular saw. 8 years is great build quality. I'd check the switch if you can get a replacement part then you have a great demo saw. Obviously buy the new version.👌👌👍

My corded Black&Decker is 42 years old and works as good as it did when my dad gave it to me used.

My 7 1/4 went out about a year ago. They discontinued the model and don't sell the parts to repair it, so I ended up having to buy a new one. I ended up getting the 60v wormdrive on sale for 300 with a battery and charger and will never go back to a standard 7 1/4. They just dont have near the power as the wormdrives.

I had the same saw, ran it hard for 5 years… paid for itself, a truck and multiple vacations 😎👍

Couldn’t agree more. I don’t know what I’d do without my saws. Probably just buy more saws! Haha 😂

Sounds like it's stuck, without a battery manually rotate the disc one revolution, then try again with a battery..

Hopefully the new one will last 8 years too!

As much as those cost they should have a lifetime warranty!
