Riot Blocked Los Ratones

preview_player
Показать описание
This past weekend, Los Ratones tried to scrim an LEC roster stream.

And I don’t mean ‘tried’ as in they tried it out, or tried to win - and couldn’t - I mean: they tried and Riot was like ‘no’ . . . despite letting it happen in the LTA.

So, the biggest question is just . . . why?

The fact that BOTH teams wanted to stream the scrim is insane

The myth of "consensual" scrims

GiantX: I consent
LR: I consent
Riot: I DONT!!!

Isn't there someone you forgot to ask?

Riot has been constantly trying to kill the success of its own game for the past 6/7 years :D

Riot doesn't like 5v5 outside of their official leagues and it shows

Ah, a classic instance of “the left hand not knowing what the right one is doing.”

Riot needs to wake up and realize LR has people in the west actually interested in watching LoL

Add another L onto the ever growing mountain of Riot's Ls.

LR is bringing something back to the sport that has been lost in a while, the connection between org/players and the fans. This team feels like how it was watching old c9, clg and tsm. Im not a fan of those teams mind you, but i understand their impact on the game.

They gave us Hextech chests back... so they HAD to take SOMETHING away

They do not want to show it, because if LR wins... RIOT will get questioned about teams in LEC etc. PPL will ask them, yoooo why are there teams that are weaker. RIOT receives lots of money for the spot in the league.

I think it's more wild that Riot doesn't have a universal ruleset in place for the regions at this point. I wonder if its the same in Valorant.

They are trying really hard not to revive League.

Part of the story that isn't being told is that multiple professional teams playing against each other could be considered a 'Riot Esports Competition'. Because it isn't a regional based competition, Riot cannot make money from it. Dumb because it hurts the organizations more than Riot.

League managements are handled seperately within LoL esports. The LTA change was not a central Riot decision but one by LTA management, other league managements haven't followed the LTA decision.

It's precisely because Riot HASN'T intervened and made a central ruling that this situation happened.

LEC doesnt allow LR to stream their scrims and look what happened to EU at First Stand, lost every series. This is why EU is going downhill

instead of streaming a scrim, can't 5 friends play a game against 5 other friends and stream it? or is there some stupid clause in the contracts that prevents them from doing that?

btw, i know that's the same thing, im asking if there is a loophole they can abuse.

LEC teams LITERALLY pay millions to enter the league, RIOT makes millions when games between those teams are played and streamed online (sponsors involved and everything).
Now LR is not part of LEC, trying to scrim an LEC team (GiantX). Just imagine the amount of viewership and money a single scim would generate.
And if we scrim GiantX the next team might be G2.
SO 2 OF THE BIGGEST FAN BASED TEAMS SCRIM.
only one is in the LEC and the other isn't so RIOT won't profit from IT.
This denial came from a money issue in my opinion
