My betta fish (Blue) died last night. I guess he was already sick when I realised he didn’t ate much and was at the bottom of his tank and not swimming happily like he was before. Spent around 5 hrs staying up with him so he didn’t died alone. Broke my heart to see him in pain and fighting to be strong but i was glad i was with him. Love you Blue! 🤍🤍

My beta past away today. He lived for 1 year and 50 weeks, so sad he didn’t make it to 2. He did have a big lump on his back that we didn’t know what was, but the pet shop said he would be fine and gave us medicine to put in the water. This video was very helpful though.

How come I am so sad about losing my dear Guppie? Was it because I bought him for my cute little niece and it was such a fun memory to decorate his tank? Or is it because my aging mom loved to talk to him as he swam and fluttered around? Or is it because he always knew when it was breakfast, along with the other critters in our home, and greeted me with excitement every time? Oh Guppie. My betta fish Slade was completely healthy. He was bright red, swam around his tank alert and with purpose. He was always very curious and looked at everyone that walked by, but a few days ago, he was floating sideways at the top as if he was having issues with his swim bladder. I decided to fast him for one day thinking that maybe he was constipated. He began to act normal again yesterday. Today, I checked on him and he was floating side ways again. I thought that maybe his water needed to be changed and tank cleaned so I did that. When I got back home, he was floating at the top dead so I honestly don’t know what was wrong with him. I only had him for 5 months since I took him from my university’s science lab so I do not know how old he actually was before I took him since he was already at adult size when I was able to take him home.

Most of my bettas I've had over the years died of old age, but the dropsy threw me for a loop.

As you can imagine, I freaked out because he (just over a period of a week) grew a massive belly, then keeled over. He didn't seem to suffer too badly, as he ate as normal. Heck, the little guy laid on his side most of the time, but when I got the food, he swam with all his might to get it. The last night was the hardest, as he was laying in the gravel on his side; he tried moving his head to the top, but couldn't move his body. Thankfully, he seemed to pass in his sleep.

my betta eyes are a bit foggy but i did go through a period where his feeding schedule was very inconsistent (i was struggling to take care of myself too) and i haven’t been cleaning his tank as often because it is winter rn. i’ve heard those could lead to foggy eyes but he is also pretty lazy recently so i’m getting worried. this video was so helpful it hard to watch. i guess time will only tell at this point.

Yeah my betta was ill...and also stressed out because, my fish got stuck in a decoration in the middle. My betta fish also was like not moving that straight and never ate too much after that. I love you blueberry...Shes in my channel but im fine now you dont have to check...Thank you for posting this video, im going to get a new betta fish and now i know this.
