Major fail! 90's Schindler M Series Traction Lifts @259 Collins Street CBD

Schindler M Series Traction Lift. These lift are awesome, it's my first time on an M series and I have to say it wasn't great, the levelling is amazing and the speed it gets to is just fantastic. But, this particular lift has MAJOR problems, I pressed G and it goes up to a locked floor which was at 3rd, doors had opened but refused to shut, I started to panic as this floor was closed and had CCTV and alarms on.

Interesting point about this lift is the indicator, I like how it sticks out and aims down so you can see the numbers perfectly. There is also a glass window on the back corner which is weird.

It’s a real pity that this was the first impression you got of Schindler M-Series, because they truly are amazing pieces of architecture, especially on the levelling & pre-doors front. It’s just… some love to be jerks, and the one you got hates you for whatever reason 😬 I’m sure that was a traumatic experience!

Though either way, I’m envious, because at least you experienced the *proper* Schindler M model lol! Here in NZ we have a slightly different variant of Schindler M-Series which honestly doesn’t live up to the classic model. We have one at Wellington Airport which takes *10 whole seconds* to level — completely contrary to the instant levelling of classic Schindler M’s!
