Basically keep paying off the credit card every month and you’ll be fine. Thanks for explaining this. Keep up the good work 🔥

Thank you bro for explaining his to me better than my email did. I watched your YouTube channels that led me to banking with Navy. I owe around 8 grand on my card which will paid off soon. Thanks bro keep up the good work.

I’ve never paid interest because I always pay my balance a couple days or a week after the transaction. But I still don’t like the change because the cost of living is high. The economy isn’t doing good right now so it bothers me that this is the time they decide to make this change as if people aren’t already struggling.

Thank you so much for breaking this down! Other people were making it seem so detrimental…like NFCU was out to get us!!!!

Thanks for the quick "is it better or worse for me" explanation. Honestly Navy federals email could have just said "we're changing the terms and it's worse for you." Which I already believed to be the case.

This actually helps a lot cause I’m already doing velocity banking with a PLOC at 13% simple interest. Can’t wait to use this strategy with the Navy platinum rewards card which is at 11%

When I decided to rebuild my credit, I made a decision to never ever pay anything other than my statement balance. So they could change to millisecond compounding for all I care. Doesn't affect me at all...

Thanks for this, I was seriously considering closing the accounts, but next year I plan on taking out a 401k loan (for only 12 months) to pay off my heaviest card. I will pay the interest on that loan back to my retirement account in one year, and clear a debt with 0% interest of cost. Basically, if my language is on point, I will make more on my account for retirement than I would have lost in interest charges for the year.

This makes me realize that's a better deal than closing the account and paying it down, which was what I was leaning towards- perhaps hoping NFCU after 22 years of service with me, would kill the interest on an inactive credit account and let me pay it quickly off. If nothing else, I hope my comment helps someone considering the same. Especially if you get charged interest beyond the closed account- it probably won't be worth the hit to your credit. One thing I can say though, assets matter more than available credit. Get enough saved and owned, it won't matter what you closed in the past.

Chase just gave me a 4500 credit increase... but I'm going to act as if it's still the same. 🎉

Navy Federal is Wells Fargo cousin! The largest credit union in the US has the widest disparity in mortgage approval rates between White and Black borrowers of any major lender, a trend that reached new heights last year, a CNN analysis found. They are who they are!
