GRBL Errors: Alarm 3

Continuing in our series on common GRBL Errors, we have Alarm 3 "Reset While in Motion". This error occurs when communication with the machine's controller is abruptly reset while running. We'll address a few possible causes in this video, as well as what you can do to resolve and prevent this issue.

Microsoft updates frequently interrupt large jobs. disconnect from network when running jobs. Another issue is large images 6x6" in grayscale frequently crash jobs, both memory and disk resource run low and then system freezes. One key feature missing in LB is display of last g-code line number and the ability to continue from last good line number. LaserGRBL has done a very good job with this and its never crashed. Must have for 2.0.

I had issues with the laser restarting at random, I found that connecting a powered usb hub between the laser and computer fixed the problem (not sure why, but it worked for me!)

I saw a 1202 alarm once. I asked what it was, it was just the computer being too busy. I could complete the job.

Maybe you could add that a major issue for Mac users is the usb-c connection of newer models. They need to put a hub or converter in between.
