I agree regarding his mediocre success in terms of box office takes. But, his success I think is measured by his making others look goid, his humor his personality and his activism. He acknowledges his wife is far more important than he is. These are measures of his success- more important than box office numbers.

Well… I get what u mean… but… he’s one of the only people to legitimately go from tv star to movie star…. 8 Oscar nominations …. 2 oscar wins…. Writer director producer actor(Oscar noms or wins in each field)….range from legitimate comedy chops in ´oh brother where art thou’ to voiceover work in ´the fantastic mr fox’… to purely dramatic in ´michael clayton’ to the action comedy in the ´ocean’s movies’ and ´from dusk till dawn’…. add in his likeability and charisma which makes him generally always enjoyable to watch….not to mention the successful businessman philanthropist etc outside the industry….and I guess that lands you Kennedy center honours…

For my.money, that was his best work ever. He absolutely killed that role. And the rest of the cast was superb.

Yeah I it's you being negative he didn't get his award for his box office draw most of it has to do with real life stuff but the guy has 2 Oscars plus I adore alot his movies . Perfect Storm is amazing and tragic and don't get me started on the Ocean films you cherry picked his success

He must have been nominated because of his humanitarian work. You are right he is not a great actor. Also I hate to bring politics into it but he donates a lot of money to the Democratic Party and they own a lot of things.
