I have had these type of texts and emails before. My rule of thumb is to go to the actual website, not through a link, but by physically TYPING IN the URL or website address and checking it for myself whether there are problems with my account/s. Please, people, adopt this habit too. It's an easy rule to remember and follow, and may save a lot of heartbreak.

Yeah I’ve gotten those pay pal scam emails and texts as have other family members I’ve told them how to see if it’s real, one thing you forgot to mention is PayPal will never ever reach out to you, they only contact you through their app, so if the notice isn’t from and in the app it’s most likely 99.9% chance a scam..the first time is almost got me, I even called pay pal and got pissed at them, ..

I never use the links in any of those emails. I just log in from the bookmarks on my browser. Scams also now come in SMS texting too. I had one that started "Dear Customer". I know that was a scam and deleted it and reported it as junk.
