A cheeky older couple made eye contact with me and my husband at a small crosswalk when there were no cars coming (like period. None.) but the light stayed on “don’t walk” forever. We all just started walking and the older gentleman was like “they can’t catch us all!!” and it was such a small charming moment of mutual rebellion. 😂

I had the opposite problem in school. The teacher would refuse to let me wear pants. Dress code stated we had to wear school shorts, which A: were too expensive, B: the community pair were itchy af, and C: did not pass my personal modesty standards. I ended up getting away with pants under the community shorts for a 10% grade loss. It was stupid, and I don’t miss HS one bit.

My whole school (except a few students) decided to skip school on a thursday and when we went back to school the teachers acted like nothing happened


Edit: I'm loving everyone's replies but I want to clear some things up I still go to this school and I don't live in America so we don't have the senior and freshmen stuff so idk anything about it so no it wasn't a senior skip day

Every year my school had pajama day. Then randomly at the start of one year they announced they would no longer do pajama day. A lot of people were super pissed off about it and encouraged people to still wear pajamas anyway on pajama day. After hearing about this, the principal announced that anyone who wore pajamas would get a detention but this didn’t seem to stop anyone. Pajama day rolls around and I would say like 85% of the students are in pajamas. They had deans guarding the door to hand out detention slips for anyone walking in wearing pajamas. They also sent deans around to different class rooms to check if anyone was wearing pajamas and would give them detention slips. I remember this one kid in my carpentry class was just wearing pajama pants that looked kind of similar to sweatpants which is why I think he made it this far, but when we heard the dean coming, we had him hide in the supply closet to avoid getting a detention. We thought that they couldn’t send all of us to detention but boy were we wrong. Normally detention is served in a classroom but because 85% of the students had detention that day, they put half in the cafeteria and half in the gym to serve their detention. Lots of parents were furious and the school got lots of angry phone calls, but they stayed firm in their decision. Next year, no one even spoke about pajama day.

as a muslim girl, the exact opposite situation happened with me. even before i had to put on the hijab, i was very modest and never wore shorts and often had to be persuaded to wear short sleeves. my p.e. teacher used to get very angry at me for wearing pants and yelled at me to go put on shorts but i refused. she would make me sit out and if i still didn’t want to go change, she changed the activity from exercising to playing. i still refused to budge. after a while, my friends understood what happened and stopped playing to come sit with me, but she threatened that if they sat with me they would also be in trouble so i sent them away and told them i’d be fine.

i told my mom after this happened every p.e. class for two weeks, and my mom raised hell. needless to say, she was fired.

My English teacher in 8th grade (USA school), always had super low cut shirts and dresses with tons of cleavage. She would harrass all the girls with larger busts from early development (me included) about any slightly low cut shirts or dresses. A bunch of girls went to the office after getting dress coded a ton and got her dress coded😂 she got talked to about, "appropriate teacher attire, " still makes me laugh

in middle school we had a male gym teacher who yell at us girls if we weren't wearing short shorts. he would get so upset, even when they didn't pass the "fingertip test" he always said they were too long for PE. so eventually we all just started wearing sweatpants, no matter how hot it was.

Students in my highschool organized a walkout to show how many students were scared of going to school because of shootings, we also had a moment of silence to remember the lives lost. We made sure to be quiet going outside and all the teachers were let known ahead of time by the students participating and we're fine with it. We were all threatened with write ups by the principal, but over half the school participated and the system to input write ups on records broke because of how many there were
